Norse Softball Falls at Home to Louisville

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.  – Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball finished up its home-opening six-game homestand on Tuesday afternoon with a marquee matchup against Louisville. The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead in the first and never trailed in the contest, coasting to a 15-4 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Northern Kentucky used all three pitchers in the game, each pitching two innings. Brooklyn Ballis got the start, and she was relieved by Alicia Flores in the third, and Kyndall Ford relieved the senior to finish off the contest. 
- The Norse recorded seven hits in the game, all singles, all coming between the third and fourth innings. Mack Brow led the way offensively with a 2-2 day at the plate, continuing her recent hot streak. Five different Norse were responsible for the remaining hits in the game. 

NORSE NOTES
- Louisville jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one, expanding it to four by the middle of the third. The Norse cut the Cardinal lead in half in the bottom of the third, scoring a pair of runs on three hits, all with two outs. Brow sparked the rally with a looping single to right, then Campbell Beatty walked to put a pair on base. Jena Rhoads and Olivia Pastin drove in both runners with back-to-back RBI singles. 
- The Cardinals responded with a four-spot in the fourth, but NKU answered in their half of the inning, scoring two runs on four singles. Stella Wulker and Emma Ginn led off the inning with back-to-back hits, then hits from Brielle DiMemmo and Brow put the Norse on the board in the frame. The Norse got a fourth run on a wild pitch as Victoria Flores crossed home.

Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball travels to Michigan this weekend, taking on Oakland in a three-game series as they look to continue their hot start to their 2025 Horizon League campaign.
