HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — An early rally from Milwaukee proved too much to overcome for the Northern Kentucky baseball team on Friday, as the Norse dropped the series opener to the Panthers. 

Connor Kurki and Ryan Pehrson were highlights out of the bullpen for the Norse.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - PITCHING

• Connor Kurki and Ryan Pehrson combined for three scoreless innings out of the bullpen to close the game. 
• Conner Linn took the loss. 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - BATTING

• NKU managed to get just five hits in the loss. Logen Devenport, Jake Paulick, Josh Williams, Braydon Rogers and Jake Altman all had a hit. 
• Jake Altman had the lone run-scoring knock with an RBI single. 
• Gabe Miranda drew three walks in the loss. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Following a scoreless first inning, Milwaukee plated three in the second, four in the third and six in the fourth to take a 13-0 lead. NKU scored three of their own in the fourth but nothing more in the run rule loss. 

UP NEXT

• The Norse take on Milwaukee two more times this weekend, with Saturday's game currently set for 1 PM.
