Northern Kentucky draws with Belmont

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Men's Soccer returned home Saturday night, coming off a Sunday win at Western Illinois. The Norse notched a penalty goal near the end of the first half, but Belmont equalized in the second half.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Silas Borgman scored the lone goal for the Norse, slotting one in from the penalty spot with three minutes left in the first half. It marked the first goal of Borgman's career at NKU. 
– Belmont equalized eight minutes into the second half, as NKU keeper Alex Kron was caught off his line and the Bruin striker was able to capitalize. 
– A minute after the goal, a massive scrum emerged that resulted in a yellow card to both sides. Just five minutes later, Bruin Jimiru Mark was sent off on a straight red card for a foul on NKU defender Joshua Cline
– Despite Belmont playing with ten men for the final 31 minutes, the Norse couldn't pull ahead, as the match ended in a one-all draw. 
– NKU won the shot battle 15-6 (7-2 on goal), and the corner battle 8-2.
