Women’s Tennis Drops Away Match to EKU

RICHMOND, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's tennis took on Eastern Kentucky on Friday morning, looking to build on their first win of the season against Thomas More two weeks prior. The Norse earned one singles victory, as Haley Slay won her match in the four slot, but the Norse fell 6-1 to the Colonels. 

Alyssa Cameron and Catharina Cardoso, playing in the #2 doubles slot, took down their opponents 6-2, but NKU's #1 & #3 doubles teams lost their sets, allowing the Colonels to pick up the doubles point. 

In singles play, Darya Gneidina dropped her match in the #1 slot after taking the first set 6-3. Sydney Zakic and Alyssa Cameron lost their matches in two sets, but Haley Slay came back from a set one loss to take her match 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 and earn the lone point of the match for the Norse. Aaditi Bhat and Catharina Cardoso dropped their matches in the #5 and #6 slots, respectively.
