LOUISVILLE, Ky.  – Northern Kentucky University Norse softball finished up weekend play in Louisville on Saturday, taking on Western Illinois and Bellarmine in rematches of Friday's games. NKU took game one after scoring just one run on a sacrifice fly, as Alicia Flores pitched a gem to keep the Leathernecks scoreless, while the Norse downed Bellarmine in extra innings to end the day at 2-0.

FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 1, Western Illinois – 0

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Alicia Flores allowed just three Leatherneck hits while walking none and hitting no batters in a seven-inning shutout win, as she moved to 3-1 on the season with the win. 
- NKU recorded six hits in 25 at bats, scoring their lone run on a first-inning sacrifice fly from Brielle DiMemmo. 
- DiMemmo finished 1-2 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
- Brooke Keltner went 1-2 with a double. 
- Mack Brow went 1-3 and scored the lone run of the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Makaree Chapman pitched a complete-game win over eight innings, allowing just two runs, six hits, and four walks, while striking out five. She moved to 2-3 on the season with the win. She also batted 1-3 with an RBI in the game.
- The Norse batted 7-26 as a team in the game, walking three times.
- Peyton Mueller-Stenz went 2-3 at the plate with a run scored and a double, NKU's only extra-base hit of the game.
- Emma Ginn went 1-2 with an RBI and a walk. 

NEXT UP
NKU has the weekend off before heading back to Louisville to take on the Cardinals in a March 3 matchup at 6 PM.
