RICHMOND, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse softball headed back down to Richmond to finish play in the EKU Invitational on Sunday, taking on Delaware State, who they again run-ruled, but gave up a six-run lead to Eastern Kentucky in game two.

Abigail Byrd moved to 3-1 on the season with five innings of three-run ball. She struck out two batters while walking two and allowed four hits.

Brielle DiMemmo drove in six of NKU's 13 runs, finishing the day with seven total bases, going 2-4 with a triple and a homer.

Mack Brow finished 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Peyton Mueller-Stenz went 2-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- NKU opened things up with a six-run first inning but failed to score for the rest of the game. A three-run homer in the sixth gave the Colonels a late lead, and they held on in the seventh for the win.

Makaree Chapman started and threw 2.1 innings while allowing nine baserunners and four runs.

Alicia Flores threw 3.1 innings, allowing four runs with four hits and a walk while striking out three. She moved to 3-3 with the loss.
- NKU recorded four hits and six walks while striking out thrice.

Marlee Loudermilk finished 1-3 with a three-run double.

Lexy Morris went 1-2 with a two-run double and scored in the first.
