HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse softball faced off with Kentucky on Wednesday evening, looking to even up the midweek as the Norse fell to Miami 11-3 the day before. NKU's pitching started strong, only giving up a pair of runs through six, but gave up four in the seventh as the Norse were shut out at home.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
–  Northern Kentucky pitcher Alicia Flores got the start, and threw four innings of two-run ball, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out a pair. Abigail Byrd relieved her and threw a pair of scoreless frames, and Makaree Chapman finished the game, allowing four runs in the seventh. 
– NKU recorded four hits in 25 at-bats with a pair of walks. NKU did not record an extra-base hit in the game, and Jena Rhoads was the only Norse to get on base multiple times, finishing the day 2-3.

Northern Kentucky has the weekend off before resuming the homestand next Tuesday, taking on Evansville.
