Men’s Volleyball swept by #7 Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's volleyball traveled up to Muncie for a MIVA clash with #7 Ball State on Thursday evening, taking on the Cardinals after NKU claimed its first-ever conference victories last week. The Norse came out strong, but were eventually swept by the Cardinals, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.

LOCATION: Worthen Arena – Muncie, Ind. 
RECORDS: NKU: 5-14 (2-11 MIVA) | BSU: 21-3 (12-2 MIVA)

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– Northern Kentucky started strong with a .435 hitting percentage in the first set, but that mark fell to .208 overall following sets two and three. The Norse allowed Ball State to hit .375 in the match, including .464 in the final set. NKU lost every statistical battle except blocks, which they won 6-3. 
– Griffin Wheatley led NKU with 11 points, going for nine kills, two total blocks, and an ace. 
– Will McElveen posted an impressive attacking line of 8-1-15, also leading the squad with nine digs. 
– Nick Whitley led the Norse in assists with 20, also going for five digs. 
– Ryan Peterson led the Norse with four total blocks, including a solo. 

POSTSEASON BOUND
With Queens' loss to Purdue Fort Wayne, Northern Kentucky has clinched a berth in the MIVA Tournament, with the quarterfinal set for April 18. Opponent and location are will be determined at a later date.

NKU takes on #16 Ohio State on Saturday evening.
