DAYTON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball continued its weekend series with Wright State on Friday after dropping the opener on Thursday by a score of 9-5. NKU took an early deficit and never managed a comeback, losing in seven innings by run rule.

GAME SUMMARY
– Wright State put up four runs in the first on two hits, a hit by pitch, a walk, and a Norse error. NKU threatened to score in the third, loading the bases with two outs, but a groundout ended the inning. The Norse allowed two more Raider runs in the fourth on three hits. Wright State really blew things open in the fifth, totaling five runs on an error, three walks, and two hits, including a grand slam. NKU scored four runs in the seventh, but the Raiders walked it off in the seventh on a two-out RBI single. 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
– NKU threw five pitchers, recording a combined 20 outs. EJ Miramontes got the start and allowed nine runs, five earned, with nine total baserunners while striking out three. Miramontes moved to 2-3 on the season with the loss. MJ Castaneda threw two perfect innings with four strikeouts, marking the Norse's most notable appearance out of the bullpen. 
– Northern Kentucky's offense recorded just four hits in 23 at-bats while drawing five walks and four hit by pitches. NKU stranded seven baserunners in the contest. 
– Mark Nowak was the only Norse with multiple hits, finishing 2-4 with a run scored. 
– Ethan Thomas batted 1-3 with a solo home run.
– Jake Paulick batted 1-2 with an RBI and a pair of walks.
