NKU Men’s Soccer falls at home to Bellarmine

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer took on Bellarmine on Sunday night, as the Norse searched for their first victory of the 2026 campaign. NKU struck first on a penalty goal from Carlos Mercé, but gave up a pair of goals in the second half to drop the match.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– Northern Kentucky out-shot BU in the first half, 8-5, but were out-shot 7-3 in the second. NKU had three shots on goal to Bellarmine's seven. 
– NKU had seven corner kick opportunities to Bellarmine's nine. 
– Carlos Mercé notched his second goal of the 2026 campaign. He had nearly half the shot attempts for the Norse, with five of the 11 total. 
– Bennett Gerak finished with two shots and a shot on goal, including the best chance of the match for the Norse in the 25th minute, but his attempt was saved. 
– Northern Kentucky had seven total yellows in the match. Tre Jervier had a pair, getting sent off in the 87th minute.
