2018: Made 24 appearances on the mound, which ranked second on the team…Had a start against Miami (Ohio) on March 11….Struck out 39 batters in 49.2 innings of work…Recorded a career-high of five strikeouts against Rio Grande on April 17.  

Prior to NKU:
Service is another local ballplayer who attended Elder High School…in his 2017 senior season he recorded a 1.70 ERA and 24 strikeouts through 49.1 innings pitched…In 2016, he earned Second Team All-GCL South
 
Coach Asalon on Kyle Service: "Kyle is a right-handed pitcher from Cincinnati Elder High School. He brings a bulldog mentality and a very good mound presence as we look for him to be a key contributor immediately. He plays for one of the most successful high school programs in the state of Ohio that has won a state-record 12 state championships.  He plays for head coach Mark Thompson, the all-time winningest coach in Elder history. Kyle is rated No. 44 in Ohio by Prep Baseball Report."
