Walsh joined the coaching staff in August of 2021 for the ’21-22 season. In his first season, the pitching staff achieved the lowest ERA and WHIP since 2017. Under Dustin Peyton’s first year at the helm, the program also saw its most wins since 2017. In conference, the pitching staff lowered it’s ERA from 8.66 to a 5.72 and finished 2nd in conference in strikeouts.
Prior to NKU, Walsh was selected in the 12th round of the 2014 MLB draft. He pitched for 6 years in the organization and participated the Arizona Fall League in 2017, as well as the AAA All Star game in 2019.
Walsh played for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats from 2012-2014 and graduated with a Bachelors in Entrepreneurship.
