Jeff Chaney

Jeff Chaney enters his fourth season as John Basalyga’s head assistant coach. Chaney spent 16 years as an assistant coach at the University of Kentucky before joining the Norse in their inaugural season in Divison I in 2012.

Chaney served as the Wildcats goalkeeping coach since 2001, helping Wildcat netminders not only succeed at the collegiate level but at the professional level as well. Kentucky won three Conference-USA championships and made four appearances in the NCAA tournament during Chaney’s time at the school.

Before joining Kentucky, Chaney was an assistant at Lexington (Ky.) Catholic High School for three seasons.

Chaney is a native of Georgetown, Ky., and graduated from Scott County High School in 1984 where he was an all-state performer as a co-founder of the school’s soccer program.  Chaney went on to continue his soccer career at Georgetown (Ky.) College where he earned NAIA All-District honors in 1985 and captained the Tigers for three seasons.
