Head Coach Stu Riddle announced the addition of Lou Liberatore as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach on March 7, 2017.
Liberatore joins the Norse staff from Binghamton where he served as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach from 2014 through 2016 and worked closely with Bearcat goalkeepers.
"Lou has a proven track record of recruiting and developing some of the best goalkeepers in the nation during his time in the America East Conference. I am excited to have him join us and know he will be an important cog in the wheel," said Riddle.
Liberatore designed and implemented goalkeeper development programs and training sessions and was also responsible for development of team and individual practice plans, scouting, scheduling, national and international recruiting and video analysis for the Bearcats. Under his guidance, Binghamton goalkeeper Robert Moewes earned two-consecutive America East Conference Goalkeeper of the Year awards and was drafted by Toronto FC in the first round of the 2017 draft. Additionally, the Bearcats advanced to the AE Tournament in each of his three years, including a 2015 AE finals appearance and 2014 semifinal appearance.
While at Binghamton, Liberatore was the U17 Boy's Premiere Team Head Coach for the Greater Binghamton United FC from 2014 to 2016. Liberatore also completed stints as the Graduate Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Frostburg State University and Assistant Goalkeeper Coach for the Belmont Abbey College women's soccer program. Liberatore was a two-year captain and received All-Conference Carolinas recognition as a member of the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team from 2007 to 2011.
Liberatore boasts a NSCAA National Diploma, a Level III Goalkeeping Diploma, an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF (United States Soccer Federation) National D License in addition to a Master's of Business Administration from Frostburg State.
