Steven Beattie joins the NKU coaching staff for his first season after a storybook four-year college career, culminating in Beattie leading the Norse to their first ever NCAA national championship last season.

Beattie, a native of Skerries, Ireland, was selected by Toronto FC in the first round of the 2010 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft. Beattie later ended up signing with the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League before a training injury ended his season before it started.

During his collegiate career, Beattie was twice named the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year in Division II, a three-time Regional Player of the Year and Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He smashed the NKU record for goals, scoring 77 over his four years. He also ranks second all-time with 30 assists.
