Biography

PRIOR TO NKU: UC San Diego transfer Michael Luechauer arrives at Northern Kentucky as a redshirt sophomore after spending a pair of seasons with the Tritons. A 5'11" forward, Luechauer made five appearances for UCSD in 2024, notching his first career assist in a 3-0 victory over Air Force. Luechauer attempted three shots with two on goal, and played a season-high 47 minutes in a 2-2 draw at Howard. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Luechauer graduated from George Washington High School as the Patriots' all-time leading goal-scorer, and was named 2023 West Virginia Boys Gatorade Player of the Year and First Team All-State while leading his squad to the Class AAA state title. Luechauer scored 36 goals in his senior campaign with 12 assists, and scored 66 goals over his high school career. He led the Patriots to a 20-2-1 record and scored the lone goal in the state final.
