Noelle Smith began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Northern Kentucky University in July 2026. Her sport responsibilities include serving as the primary athletic trainer for the men's basketball, golf, and triathlon programs at NKU.Â
Smith previously served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina, a position she held since August 2024. There, she served the Tar Heels' men's basketball and swimming and diving programs, assisting and providing independent coverage of practices, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, treatments, taping, coach communication, and medical documentation. Smith graduated with her Masters of Exercise and Sport Science in 2026.
Prior to her time at North Carolina, Smith earned her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training at The Ohio State University in 2024, where she served as an athletic training student intern from 2021-2024, assisting with Ohio State's football, women's soccer, women's ice hockey, pistol, rifle, and men's lacrosse programs. Smith became a Certified Athletic Trainer following graduation in 2024.Â
