Robby Frye joined the Norse in August 2024 and is entering his second year as an assistant coach working with the NKU goalkeepers. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Frye has a wealth of experience at every level of youth soccer and currently serves as the ECNL Boys Director of Goalkeeping at Ohio Elite Soccer Academy.
Before joining the Norse, Frye served as the Kings High School Boys Varsity head coach from 2019 to 2024. During his tenure, he led the Knights to a 49-30-14 overall record. Additionally, Frye worked as a volunteer assistant academy goalkeeper coach at FC Cincinnati Academy from 2019 to 2023. At FCC, he worked under the leadership of FCC First-Team Goalkeeper Coach Paul Rogers and assisted in running and leading daily goalkeeper training sessions within the academy and the second team, FCC2.
Frye also currently serves as a staff coach with Performance Goalkeeping, owned and operated by Paul Rogers of FC Cincinnati.Â
Prior to his coaching career, Frye competed as a goalkeeper for Ohio Dominican University, where he was a 2x team captain. He graduated from ODU with a bachelor's degree in Economics. Post-graduation, he attended Ohio University, where he earned a master’s degree in Athletic Administration.Â
Frye currently holds a USSF C License, as well as United Soccer Coaches Level 1, 2, and 3 Goalkeeping Diplomas.Â
