What Gates did last week: She earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors after batting .500 with six runs batted in, five runs scored and two home runs. Gates also hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Norse to a 5-4 victory against Edinboro.

Up next: NKU meets California (Pa.) and Ferris State on Wednesday in Kissimmee, Fla.
