SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team pulled out an important Great Lakes Valley Conference road win on Friday by defeating Drury, 3-1.
Ashley Warndorf started the scoring in the 16th minute for the Norse (6-1, 3-1 GLVC), putting home a pass from
Kendall Day to notch her first goal of the season.
Amanda Mason added her seventh assist of the season on the marker.
Mason added a goal in the 35th minute by putting home her team-best fourth goal of the season to give NKU a 2-0 lead.
Jessica Page scored with less than nine minutes left in the game to give her two goals on the season and put the contest out of reach.
Nicole Williams put Drury (4-3-1, 4-1 GLVC) on the board in the 88th minute, but the Norse had built too large of a lead for the defending GLVC champion Panthers to overcome.
The NKU defense was solid throughout the night, allowing the Panthers just two shots on goal in 11 tries.
Angela Healy made one save in the victory, while Drury's Jessie Sanderson had six saves.
NKU wraps up the weekend's action on Sunday at Rockhurst.
