WAYNESVILLE, Mo. – Kelly Sullivan, Emily Martin and Morgan Price all scored goals as the Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team extended its winning streak to eight with a 3-1 victory against Missouri S&T on Sunday.

Sullivan also recorded an assist for NKU, which improved to 13-2 overall, 10-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Sarah Smith, Amanda Mason and Danielle Hogue each added an assist as the 15th-ranked Norse took sole possession of first place in the GLVC standings.

Sullivan's goal at the 35:47 mark off an assist from Smith gave NKU a 1-0 lead. Martin extended the Norse's advantage to 2-0 early in the second half by finishing off a shot into an open goal. Sullivan and Mason were credited with assists on that play.

After Missouri S&T (5-7-1, 5-6 GLVC) cut the NKU lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 71st minute, the Norse defense stiffened and held on. Price sealed the win by netting a goal in the final minute of play off an assist from Hogue.

NKU returns home to play GLVC newcomer Maryville at 5 p.m. Friday at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.
