ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Danielle Hogue and Morgan Price each scored second-half goals Friday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team defeated Lewis, 2-1.

After playing a scoreless first half, Hogue and Price netted the goals early in the second half to give NKU a 2-0 lead. Both Price and Amanda Mason assisted Hogue's goal - her fifth of the season - at the 50:54 mark.

Five minutes later, Price sent a free kick into the back of the net for her second goal of the season. NKU (8-2 overall, 5-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) would not get another shot attempt the remainder of the contest, but the Norse defense held on against a flurry of Lewis shots.

Lewis (2-7-2 overall, 1-6-1 GLVC) finally scored at the 88:29 mark when Kylen Mills headed in a shot off a corner kick. The Flyers finished with a 16-9 edge in shots attempts, including a 13-2 advantage in the second half.

NKU goalie Rachael Wood made a career-high seven saves to pick up the victory. The Norse upped their lead in the all-time series with Lewis to 9-2-1.

NKU concludes the road trip Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest at Illinois-Springfield.
