Kelly Sullivan netted her fourth goal of the season to lead the Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory against Maryville (Mo.) Friday night at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

Rachael Wood# recorded the shutout and collected five saves as NKU won its ninth consecutive game and improved to 14-2 overall, 11-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse, ranked 12th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, are in sole possession of first place in the GLVC standings.
Maryville, in its first year as a member of the GLVC, dropped to 5-10-1 overall, 4-8-1 in the GLVC.
After playing a scoreless first half, NKU struck at the 54:46 mark when
Kendall Day made a perfect lead pass to key Sullivan's breakaway goal. Sullivan drilled a shot past Maryville goalie Jena Casagrande for the winning score off the assist from Day.
NKU concludes the regular season Sunday at noon by playing host to Missouri-St. Louis. That game will be played on the NKU campus.
NKU can clinch the overall No. 1 seed for the GLVC Tournament with a win Sunday against Missouri-St. Louis. The Norse begin the GLVC Tournament by hosting a first-round game at the Town & Country Sports Complex on Nov. 1. If they win that contest, the Norse would host the semifinals (Nov. 6) and championship (Nov. 8).
