HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team is set for a tough weekend of Great Lakes Valley Conference action, as the Norse play host to Quincy and Rockhurst at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.

Friday's game against Quincy kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's matinee against Rockhurst begins at 2:30 p.m. Live stats for each game and an audio broadcast of Sunday's contest will be available at nkunorse.com.

The Norse are 9-2 on the season, including a 6-2 mark in GLVC play, following a pair of wins on the road last week. NKU defeated Lewis, 2-1, on Friday afternoon before closing out the week with a 9-0 win over Illinois-Springfield.

Kendall Day paces the Norse offense with six goals on the year, while Danielle Hogue holds the points lead with five goals and nine assists for 19 points. Rachael Wood has continued her staunch defense of the NKU net, posting a 0.76 goals against average and an .841 save percentage.

A WORD ABOUT QUINCY: The Hawks enter this weekend with a 9-3 overall record and a 7-1 GLVC mark, good for a share of the league lead, and have won their last five games by identical 2-0 scores. Jenna Boyko's seven goals lead the team, while Tony Eye's 0.43 goals against average leads the team's defensive efforts.

LAST TIME AGAINST QUINCY: NKU got its offense from a Quincy own goal while Angela Healy made four saves to preserve a 1-0 victory for the Norse. NKU holds a 10-3-1 record in the all-time series.

A WORD ABOUT ROCKHURST: Rockhurst is 6-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference, just a half-game behind the Norse in the league standings. The Hawks are led offensively by Haley Long with five goals, while Abby Davidson and Chelsey Schumacher each have four tallies. Alyssa Miller has allowed 15 goals on the season for a 1.42 goals against average.

LAST TIME AGAINST ROCKHURST: NKU and Rockhurst split their two meetings last season, with a Danyelle Boyce goal making the difference in a 1-0 regular-season win for the Hawks, and Kelly Snead scoring the only goal in a 1-0 NKU win in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Norse have won five of the six meetings all-time between the teams.

REGIONAL RANKINGS: The first NCAA Division II regional rankings were released this week and the Norse check in at No. 4, while Quincy was listed as the No. 3 team in the region. Grand Valley State and Indianapolis were listed as the top two teams in the Midwest region. The top six teams in the final regional ranking are extended invitations to the NCAA Tournament.

SPREADING THE WEALTH: The Norse have seen their offense come from every quarter this season as 15 different players have scored at least one goal on the year. With 37 goals on the season, the Norse lead the GLVC in offense.

PROFIT SHARING: The NKU offense has been predicated on the team's strong passing, as the Norse lead the conference in assists with 43. Individually, Danielle Hogue's nine helpers leads the GLVC, while Amanda Mason stands third with six.
