HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team hits the road Wednesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference game at Ashland.

The Norse then resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play Saturday with a 1 p.m. home game against Lewis. Two days later, NKU plays host to nationally ranked Quincy at 5:30 p.m.

NKU is 6-3 and owns three straight victories. Ashland enters Wednesday's game with a 3-5 record. The Eagles are 1-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

NKU owns a 24-3 lead in the all-time series with Ashland. A year ago, NKU coasted to a 67-46 win against Ashland as Karen Brackman scored 21 points. Jessie Slack added 13 points in that win.

LAST TIME OUT: NKU posted a 74-46 win against West Virginia Wesleyan on Dec. 22. Sadie Bowling scored 19 points – tying a career best - and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to lead NKU in that victory. Bowling added six assists and three blocked shots for the Norse.

Casse Mogan finished with 12 points for NKU, while teammate Brandi Rayburn added 10 points. The Norse used a 14-2 run early in the second half to turn a 32-30 lead into a 46-32 advantage with 11:41 remaining.

ROAD WOES: NKU is looking for its first road win of the season. The Norse are 0-3 away from home, and unbeaten (6-0) in The Bank of Kentucky Center.

NKU lost to GLIAC member Wayne State by a 62-57 score on the road earlier this season.

STREAKS IN THREES: NKU began the season 3-0, then lost three straight games. NKU has since won three consecutive games.

STINGY DEFENSE: NKU is holding opponents to 36.1 percent shooting from the field, which is No. 3 in the GLVC. The Norse also own a rebound margin of +4.3 per game, which ranks seventh in the GLVC.

FROM THE LINE: NKU has made 74.3 percent of its free throws, which is fourth in the GLVC. Brandi Rayburn is 22-for-24 (91.7 percent) at the line.

BEYOND THE ARC: NKU is shooting just 28.4 percent from 3-point range, which ranks 12th in the GLVC. Jessie Carmack has made 15 shots from beyond the arc to lead the Norse.

MINUTES GALORE: NKU's Casse Mogan ranks No. 1 in the GLVC in minutes played per game with an average of 34.1.
