HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team hits the road Wednesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference game at Ashland.
The Norse then resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play Saturday with a 1 p.m. home game against Lewis. Two days later, NKU plays host to nationally ranked Quincy at 5:30 p.m.
NKU is 6-3 and owns three straight victories. Ashland enters Wednesday's game with a 3-5 record. The Eagles are 1-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
NKU owns a 24-3 lead in the all-time series with Ashland. A year ago, NKU coasted to a 67-46 win against Ashland as
Karen Brackman scored 21 points.
Jessie Slack added 13 points in that win.
LAST TIME OUT: NKU posted a 74-46 win against West Virginia Wesleyan on Dec. 22.
Sadie Bowling scored 19 points – tying a career best - and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to lead NKU in that victory. Bowling added six assists and three blocked shots for the Norse.

Brandi Rayburn added 10 points. The Norse used a 14-2 run early in the second half to turn a 32-30 lead into a 46-32 advantage with 11:41 remaining.
ROAD WOES: NKU is looking for its first road win of the season. The Norse are 0-3 away from home, and unbeaten (6-0) in The Bank of Kentucky Center.
NKU lost to GLIAC member Wayne State by a 62-57 score on the road earlier this season.
STREAKS IN THREES: NKU began the season 3-0, then lost three straight games. NKU has since won three consecutive games.
STINGY DEFENSE: NKU is holding opponents to 36.1 percent shooting from the field, which is No. 3 in the GLVC. The Norse also own a rebound margin of +4.3 per game, which ranks seventh in the GLVC.
