Indianapolis snapped a 10-game losing streak against NKU, 59-53.

INDIANAPOLIS – Samantha Meissel scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half as the University of Indianapolis snapped a streak of 10 consecutive losses against Northern Kentucky University with a 59-53 victory against the Norse on Thursday night.
Katie Lyons and Jessica Canary each added 10 points for the Greyhounds, who are ranked No. 8 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Indianapolis rallied from an early 12-point deficit to defeat No. 20 NKU for the first time since Dec. 2, 2004.
Going into Thursday's game, NKU had beaten Indianapolis 10 consecutive times. Indianapolis improved to 6-0 overall, 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
With the score tied at 50-all, Meissel buried a 3-pointer from out front to give Indianapolis a 53-50 lead with 2:20 remaining. Katie Dewey made a pair of free throws with 1:42 remaining to extend the Greyhound advantage to 55-50.
Casse Mogan's basket with 22 seconds remaining cut the Indianapolis lead to 55-53. After Cayla Keegan converted the first of two free throws with 18 seconds left, she missed the second toss.
Nickole Gonser, however, grabbed the offensive rebound and was fouled. Gonser hit one of two free throws to extend the lead to 57-53. After two NKU misses, Gonser sealed the win by converting two free throws with three seconds remaining.
Rachel Lantry led NKU (3-2 overall, 0-1 GLVC) with 17 points, and Mogan added 13 points and five assists.
Brandi Rayburn finished with 12 points for the Norse, who shot 33.3 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle by a 38-36 margin.
Mogan scored six points to key a game-opening 16-4 run by NKU.
Kendra Caldwell added four points during the spurt. Indianapolis made just one field goal during the first eight minutes of the game.
Meissel, who entered the game averaging 23.2 points per contest, was held to just a pair of free throws in the first half. She also committed three fouls in the first half and picked up another with 14:39 remaining in the game.
Indianapolis shot 34.8 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers.
NKU concludes the road trip Saturday with a game at Southern Indiana. The Screaming Eagles have won seven straight games and are 8-2 after defeating Bellarmine on Thursday night.
The Norse return home next Thursday to meet Saint Joseph's in a non-conference game at 7 p.m. in The Bank of Kentucky Center.
