ASHLAND, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team needed just 67 seconds to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory against Ashland on Wednesday night.
After Alicia VanZanten scored Ashland's goal in the first half, NKU responded in the 63rd minute when
Amanda Mason, who has scored goals in each of her last two contests, received a corner kick from
Laura Painter and finished from five yards out to even the contest at 1-1.
A minute later,
Danielle Hogue put the Norse ahead with a goal from 10 yards out after an assist from
Sarah Smith. It was Hogue's third goal of the season.

Rachael Wood did her part, making two of her four saves late in the second half to preserve the Norse lead.
NKU improved to 5-1 with the win, while Ashland fell to 3-2-1. NKU is now 7-1-1 all-time against Ashland and has won the last five meetings between the clubs.
The Norse return to action on Sunday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Indianapolis. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
