HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team begins a busy week of action Wednesday at 1 p.m. with a non-conference road doubleheader at Ohio Dominican.

NKU also plays host to Saint Joseph's in a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders this weekend, beginning with a noon start Saturday. NKU and Saint Joseph's conclude the four-game series Sunday a doubleheader that begins at noon.

The Norse are currently 16-6 overall and lead the GLVC East Division with a 7-1 record. NKU's eight GLVC games have all been on the road, and the Norse won three out of four in a series at Bellarmine last weekend.

ATOP THE GLVC: NKU senior outfielder Jason Cisper leads the GLVC in hitting with a .488 batting average. Cisper also is No. 1 in the GLVC in hits (40), on-base percentage (.551) and stolen bases (13). He is second in the GLVC in both runs scored with 26 and total bases with 54.

MOUND EXCELLENCE: NKU senior relief pitcher Kevin Jordan is No. 3 in the GLVC in earned run average at 1.71. Jordan is tied for first in the GLVC with 14 appearances this season.

NKU junior left-hander Dave Middendorf is tied for first in the GLVC with four victories. Middendorf is No. 2 in the GLVC with 40 strikeouts.

MORE MILESTONES: NKU head coach Todd Asalon enters Wednesday with 335 career victories with the Norse.

LAST SEASON AGAINST SJC: NKU swept a four-game series against Saint Joseph's last season in Highland Heights, Ky. The Norse won the opening two games by scores of 10-3 and 7-1. The next day, NKU completed the four-game sweep by winning by score of 7-3 and 3-1.
