HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Baseball history looms Tuesday afternoon when Northern Kentucky University plays host to Kentucky State at 1 p.m. in a non-conference doubleheader.

Jason Cisper needs one hit to tie the school's single-season record of 83, which was set by Shaun Erie in 2002. Cisper, who shattered the NKU single-season record for doubles during a 23-0 win against Maryville on Sunday, is batting .474 going into Tuesday's doubleheader against Kentucky State.
Cisper, a Moeller High School graduate, now has 24 doubles this season. The previous record was 22, set by Pat Eschan in 2002.
NKU - ranked 18th nationally in the latest NCAA Division II poll - is 33-12 overall, while Kentucky State is 5-33. NKU owns a 56-7-1 advantage in the all-time series against Kentucky State.
ASALON NEARS MILESTONE: NKU head coach
Todd Asalon is at 496 career wins entering this week. Asalon, in his 10th season at NKU, has 352 victories with the Norse. He also picked up 144 win as head coach at Thomas More.
After playing Kentucky State on Tuesday, NKU travels to Owensboro, Ky., this weekend for a four-game series at Kentucky Wesleyan. The Norse lead the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division with a 19-5 record.
