LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Claudia Bryant's breakaway goal with 17 minutes remaining in regulation gave the Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Bellarmine on Friday.

Bryant finished off the breakaway by tapping the ball past Bellarmine goalie Amy Kunowski to snap the scoreless tie in the 73rd minute. Megan Frye assisted on Bryant's goal as NKU improved to 2-0-1 overall, 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Rachael Wood collected the shutout and had one save for NKU, which is ranked 15th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse now hold a 13-1-1 all-time record against Bellarmine, which is 1-2 overall, 1-1 GLVC.

NKU returns home to face Kentucky Wesleyan at noon Sunday at the NKU Soccer Stadium.
