Rachel Brown led the Norse to a 10th-place finish at the Tom Kirinovic Classic.
BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Northern Kentucky University women's golf team finished in 10th place at the season-opening Tom Kirinovic Classic, hosted by Ferris State University.
NKU carded a 692 (352-340) as a team in the 36-hole event.
Rachel Brown led the Norse with a two-round total of 165 (86-79) to share 40th place individually.
Elizabeth Nebraski followed up in 48th place at 168 (86-82).
Ashleigh Howerton (88-89—177) and
Danielle Lickert (92-90—182) rounded out the team scoring for the Norse.
Ashland (298-305—603) took the team championship in the 14-team tournament, just five strokes ahead of Grand Valley State (304-304—308) and California (Pa.) (311-297—308). Grand Valley's Sarah Hoffman shot one-over-par (73-72—145) to take the medal.
NKU will return to action in two weeks at the Screaming Eagle Invitational in Evansville, Ind.
