INDIANAPOLIS – Since the University of Indianapolis women's basketball team requested to wear its visiting dark jerseys Thursday night for a special promotion, Northern Kentucky University made itself right at home in Nicoson Hall.
Casse Mogan scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds as visiting NKU – dressed in its home white jerseys - posted a 52-42 victory over Indianapolis.
Sadie Bowling added nine points and seven rebounds as NKU improved to 16-9 overall, 10-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Jaimie Hamlet finished with eight points for the Norse, who held Indianapolis to just 22.9 percent shooting from the field and completed the season sweep of the Greyhounds. Earlier this season, NKU defeated Indianapolis, 59-47, in Highland Heights, Ky.
Indianapolis scored the first five points of the game, but NKU countered with a 15-3 run to take a 15-8 lead on a basket by
Shanece Miller. The Norse held Indianapolis without a field goal during the final 13:27 of the first half to build a 23-17 advantage at the break.
Indianapolis made just three first-half field goals en route to 18.8 percent shooting from the field.
NKU gradually pulled away in the second half and led by as many as 17 points. Mogan netted 14 points in the second half for NKU, which shot 40 percent from the field for the game.
Mogan now has 1,026 career points, which is 26th on the NKU all-time scoring list. NKU is 42-16 all-time against Indianapolis.
Katy McIntosh led Indianapolis (14-12 overall, 9-9 GLVC) with 13 points.
NKU concludes the regular season Saturday with a road game against Southern Indiana at 2 p.m. The Norse begin GLVC Tournament play Feb. 26 and still have a chance to host a first-round game.
Pairings for the GLVC Tournament will be announced Sunday.
