HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team plays Indianapolis at 9:30 p.m. (Eastern time) Friday in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis, Mo.

NKU enters Friday's contest with an 18-9 record, and the Norse own a four-game winning streak. Indianapolis is 15-12 going into the quarterfinals after knocking off Southern Indiana in the first round.

The NKU/Indianapolis game will be played at Moloney Arena on the campus of Maryville University.
The GLVC semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, with the championship game set for Sunday. The NKU/Indianapolis winner faces top-seeded Quincy in the semifinals.

THE SERIES: NKU holds a 42-16 lead in the all-time series against Indianapolis. The Norse won both regular-season meetings against the Greyhounds (57-45 on Dec. 4 at NKU, and 52-42 on Feb. 17 at Indianapolis).

NKU is 1-1 all-time against Indianapolis in the GLVC Tournament. The Norse claimed the 2000 GLVC Tournament championship with a 75-57 win against the Greyhounds in Evansville, Ind. In 2004, Indianapolis posted a 67-58 victory over NKU in the first round of the GLVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind.

ROAD WARRIORS:
NKU has won three consecutive road games, the latest a 61-51 victory at Kentucky Wesleyan in the first round of the GLVC Tournament last Saturday.

TREY-RIFFIC: Stephanie Hodges drained four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points in the win at Kentucky Wesleyan. NKU was 9-for-13 from behind the arc and avenged two regular-season losses to Kentucky Wesleyan.

Sadie Bowling scored 16 points and buried a trio of 3-pointers. Casse Mogan added 14 points for NKU. Mogan and Bowling each netted 10 points in the second half as NKU built a 13-point lead.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Mogan, a junior guard from Circleville, Ohio, now has 1,059 career points and is 23rd on the NKU all-time scoring list. She averages a team-leading 17.6 points per game.

SIMPSON IN THE CLUTCH: NKU sophomore forward Kelsey Simpson came off the bench and scored eight points in the victory at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday. Simpson was 3-for-6 from the field and also grabbed four rebounds in that first-round win.

DEFENSIVE GEM: NKU held Kentucky Wesleyan to just 29.3 percent shooting from the field in the first round. The Norse continue to lead the GLVC in field-goal percentage defense (.350) and scoring defense (53.0 ppg).

GLVC TOURNAMENT HISTORY:
NKU owns a 23-9 all-time record in the GLVC Tournament, and the Norse have won four GLVC Tournament championships (1999, 2000, '06 and '09). NKU won each of its first three GLVC Tournament titles in Roberts Stadium. The Norse captured the 2009 GLVC Tournament title at Quincy, Ill.

THE LAST TIME AGAINST INDIANAPOLIS:
On Feb. 17, Casse Mogan scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds as NKU posted a 52-42 victory at Indianapolis. Sadie Bowling added nine points and seven rebounds for the Norse.

Jaimie Hamlet finished with eight points for the Norse, who held Indianapolis to just 22.9 percent shooting from the field and completed the season sweep of the Greyhounds.

Indianapolis scored the first five points of the game, but NKU countered with a 15-3 run to take a 15-8 lead on a basket by Shanece Miller. The Norse held Indianapolis without a field goal during the final 13:27 of the first half to build a 23-17 advantage at the break.

Indianapolis made just three first-half field goals en route to 18.8 percent shooting from the field.
