ST. LOUIS – Kristin Turner and Heather Gonser both drained 3-pointers in the final 1:27 of the game as Indianapolis rallied for a 61-57 win against Northern Kentucky University in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night.

m
Turner finished with 10 points for Indianapolis, which snapped NKU's four-game winning streak. The Greyhounds (16-12) rallied from a 57-53 deficit with 1:31 remaining with a game-ending 8-0 run and avenged a pair of regular-season losses to the Norse.

Jaimie Hamlet's basket with 1:36 left gave NKU a 57-53 lead, but Turner countered by burying a 3-pointer to cut the Norse advantage to 57-56. After NKU failed to convert on its next possession, Gonser drained a 3-pointer from the left wing to give Indianapolis a 59-57 lead with 39 seconds left.

NKU had several opportunities in the final 30 seconds but missed two shots from the field. Kelsey Simpson grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled with 3.2 seconds remaining, but she missed the front end of the bonus and Indianapolis rebounded.

Turner sealed the win by making two free throws with a 1.8 seconds left. Diana Jovanovic led Indianapolis with 12 points.

s
Casse Mogan scored 24 points for NKU, which dropped to 18-10. Mogan scored 11 points in the first half as the Norse took a 29-28 lead into intermission. Hamlet added 10 points for the Norse, who shot 44.2 percent from the field and won the rebounding battle by a 34-24 margin.

Ellen Holton finished with eight points and six rebounds for the Norse, while Kendra Caldwell added seven points and five rebounds. Simpson grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots for NKU.

Pairings for the NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced Sunday night. NKU entered the GLVC Tournament eighth in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll.

The top eight teams in the poll receive berths to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Automatic berths go to the champions of both the GLVC and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
