The Athlete of Distinction Award is the highest honor an NKU student-athlete can receive from the University and is presented to those who best exemplify the student-athlete concept through dedication, effort, ability, leadership and unselfishness, and has given the most to NKU Athletics.

In addition, the award is based on academic excellence, athletic ability and achievement, character and leadership and an active involvement in the community.

Lewis, a senior from Morrow, Ohio, has helped NKU earn a berth in the upcoming NCAA Division II Tournament with his steady play. A year ago, Lewis captured the medal at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships by shooting a 3-under-par 69 during the final round. He totaled 213 for the three-round event to win the medal.

Lewis later earned All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
