Mason nets winning goal in 75th minute, NKU women pull out 1-0 victory at Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Amanda Mason snapped a scoreless deadlock at the 74:41 mark with her seventh goal of the season as the Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team posted a 1-0 win at Drury on Friday.

Kristi Hofmeyer and Laura Painter were credited with assists on Mason's goal, which lifted NKU (6-1 overall, 4-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference) to its third straight victory. The Norse finished with an 11-4 edge in shots and dominated play during the second half by not allowing Drury (4-3-1 overall, 1-3-1 GLVC) a single attempt.

Rachael Wood picked up the shutout and recorded one save. NKU is now 6-2 all-time against Drury.

Mason, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, upped her career goal total to 41 and is tied with Bessie Black for second place in Norse history. Betsy Moore is No. 1 in school history with 70 goals.

NKU concludes the road trip Sunday with a contest at Missouri S&T in Rolla, Mo. The kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
