NKU will crown the 2012 Homecoming queen and king on Saturday.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University continues a busy week of basketball Thursday night when Wisconsin-Parkside visits The Bank of Kentucky Center for a doubleheader.
The women's game starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. The NKU women are 12-3 overall, 5-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wisconsin-Parkside is also 12-3 overall, 5-2 in the GLVC. The Rangers are No. 21 in the NCAA Division II national poll.
The Norse men are 13-2 overall, 5-2 in the GLVC. NKU is also ranked No. 9 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Ranger men are 8-7 overall, 1-6 in the GLVC.
The 2012 NKU Homecoming takes place Saturday as the Norse host a doubleheader against Lewis. The women begin at 3 p.m., and the men's game tips off at 5 p.m.
PROMOTIONS: On Thursday night, the first 250 NKU students in attendance will receive a free foam Viking helmet. In addition, “Cheer for Chipotle Night” takes place Thursday with 250 Chipotle coupons going to NKU students and 250 more to the general public.
The Homecoming Helmet competition at halftime of the women's game features “Fan Favorite” voting on facebook.com/nkunorse. The Homecoming prince and princess will be announced at halftime of the men's game.
On Saturday, the Alumni Chili Cook-off is at 2 p.m. The tailgate party is held from noon-3 p.m. in Lot D. The Homecoming king and queen will be announced at halftime of the men's game.
