HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team plays host to Butler University this Sunday in The Bank of Kentucky Center at 2 p.m.
NKU is 2-5 overall, while Butler enters the game with a 4-5 mark.
NORSE NOTES (FIVE STARTERS & ONE)
1• NKU recorded its first road victory as a Division I program last Saturday with a 69-67 win at Ball State.

Christine Roush scored 23 points and dished out a career-high seven assists at Ball State. She made seven shots from 3-point range in that win and was named Atlantic Sun Conference Newcomer of the Week. Roush is the first NKU basketball player to receive that weekly honor from the A-Sun.
3• The Norse were 11-for-24 from 3-point range, including 6-for-10 shooting in the second half.

Kaitlyn Gerrety scored 10 points off the bench on 5-for-6 shooting from the field.

FABULOUS FROSH: NKU's
Christine Roush enters Sunday's game averaging 10.7 points per game, and she leads the Norse in 3-pointers made with 15. The freshman from Louisville Mercy is shooting 48.4 percent from 3-point range (No. 2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference) and averages 4.6 rebounds per game.
Roush is second on the team in steals with nine. She has also dished out 14 assists, which is third on the team. Roush has scored at least 20 points twice, with a career high of 24 against Youngstown State. She netted 23 points at Ball State last Saturday and connected on seven 3-pointers in that road victory. The seven treys were one shy of the school record of eight, set by Shannon Roddy in 1997.
INSIDE DEPTH: NKU sophomore center
Kaitlyn Gerrety played a key role in the win at Ball State by going 5-for-6 from the field and finishing with 10 points. She also grabbed three rebounds in 14 minutes of action off the bench. Gerrety averages 6.3 points per game.
START A NEW STREAK: NKU senior forward
Tiara Hopper finished with eight points at Ball State, halting her streak of games in double figures at four. Hopper leads NKU in scoring at 11.4 points per game. She is also No. 1 on the team in rebounding at 7.0 boards per contest.
FLOOR GENERAL: NKU freshman guard
Rianna Gayheart has dished out a team-leading 19 assists and committed just eight turnovers this season.
FROM LONG RANGE: NKU is No. 4 in the A-Sun team statistics in 3-pointers made, averaging 6.4 treys per game.
NKU/BUTLER SERIES: NKU is 1-0 all-time against Butler. On March 1, 1984, Melissa Wood and Clare Lester combined for 36 points and 12 assists as Northern Kentucky cruised to a 91-56 win over Butler in Regents Hall.
Wood was 9-for-13 from the field and scored 20 points, while Lester added 16 for the Lady Norse. Both players also dished out six assists.
Also scoring in double figures for NKU were Pam King (16 points) and Amy Falk (15 points). King and Falk each pulled down seven rebounds as the Lady Norse finished with a 43-34 advantage on the boards.
NKU built a 46-27 halftime lead and coasted in the second half. It marked the only meeting between the two programs.
UP NEXT: NKU's next game is Dec. 20, when the Norse host North Carolina-Wilmington at 7 p.m. The Seahawks are currently 1-6 and play at Xavier on Dec. 18 before facing NKU. It will mark the first meeting between the Norse and the Seahawks in women's basketball.
