CARROLLTON, Ga. – Brad Clement's Game 2 offensive spark was just what Northern Kentucky University needed to pick up a 5-3 victory against West Georgia in extra innings on Saturday.

Clement went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, which secured the win for the Norse in the eighth inning.

NKU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning when a Clement single brought home Brett Cisper.  However, West Georgia answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game.

The Wolves added another run to the scoreboard in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead.

The Norse regained the lead in the top of the fifth.  Pat Williams led off the inning with a single through the right side.  Jake Morris laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Williams to second.

West Georgia's Cody Skinner walked Brandon Wood and Cisper to load the bases for NKU.  Zac Asman reached on a fielder's choice which brought Williams home.  Cisper was out on the play.

Clement singled again to right field and Wood scored for the 3-2 lead.  Asman ended the inning when he attempted to reach third base on the same play.

West Georgia added a run in the fifth to tie the game once again.

After two scoreless innings, the Norse added two more runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead for good.  Clement brought Cisper home on a triple and proceeded to steal home after a pitching switch to seal the victory.

Cisper finished the game going 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs.  Williams also went 2-for-3 for the Norse.

Brett Loeding continued to be a solid force out of the bullpen for NKU.  He picked up the victory after relieving Matt Jefferson in the fifth inning.

The Norse dropped an 11-7 decision in Game 1 against the Wolves.

NKU scored seven runs over the final three innings but could not overcome West Georgia early advantage.

Max Aeschlimann went seven innings for West Georgia and only allowed two runs.  He collected six strikeouts on his way to improving his record to 2-1.

Stevie Gipson-Eberhardt went 2-for-3 with two runs to lead the Norse offense.

NKU is now 2-4 overall, while West Georgia holds a 5-4 record.

The two teams will take the field tomorrow for a single contest at 1 p.m.
