Bradley Vanderglas and the Norse look to extend winning streak at Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team travels to Owensboro, Ky., this weekend for a four-game series against Kentucky Wesleyan.
The two teams will take the field for doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. The first pitch for both days is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Norse enter the weekend in first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division after sweeping a doubleheader against Bellarmine on Tuesday.
NKU has now won 12 games in a row and is 19-9 overall, 12-2 in the GLVC.
Kentucky Wesleyan is currently 13-11 on the season, 7-5 in the GLVC. The Panthers split a doubleheader on Tuesday with Southern Indiana.

LAST TIME AGAINST KENTUCKY WESLEYAN: NKU split a four-game series with Kentucky Wesleyan last season.
Bryan Rose hit a grand slam in the fourth inning as the Norse cruised to a 12-1 victory in the opening game of the series on April 3.
Dave Middendorf went the distance for NKU. He only surrendered one run on three hits and collected eight strikeouts.
The Panthers defeated the Norse 9-2 in the nightcap.
NKU picked up a 10-3 win in Game 1 the next day.
Max Colaner went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Blake Bagshaw pitched five innings to earn the win. He allowed two runs on three hits.
Kentucky Wesleyan earned the series split with a 6-3 victory in the last game of the series.
Bradley Vanderglas hit .500 for the series to lead the Norse. He went 5-for-10 with five runs and one RBI against the Panthers.
NKU holds a 58-36 advantage in the all-time series with Kentucky Wesleyan.
VANDERGLAS' HOT BAT: Vanderglas went 5-for-6 with three runs scored, four RBIs and a stolen base to lead NKU past Bellarmine. He went 3-for-3 and batted in three runs in Game 1 as the Norse coasted to a 9-0 victory.
His performance Tuesday improved his batting average to .410 on the season. He has collected 10 runs and 10 RBIs in 13 appearances.
CONFERNCE HONORS: Brett Loeding was named the GLVC Pitcher of the Week for his efforts against Southern Indiana last weekend. He did not allow a run and only surrendered two hits against the Screaming Eagles. Additionally, he held the Southern Indiana batters to a .091 batting average.
Loeding has not allowed a run in his past five appearances, and he has only given up three hits in that time span. The last run he allowed came in the seventh inning against Missouri-St. Louis on March 24.
Loeding holds a 1.71 ERA and a 4-1 record with five saves. He has pitched a team-high 47 1/3 innings, which is third in the conference. He is second in the GLVC with a .188 opposing batting average.
