HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team closes out the regular season this weekend with a four-game series against Lewis at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.
The two teams take the field for two games on Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for noon. NKU and Lewis finish the series with two more games on Sunday, which is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

NKU enters the weekend 30-16 overall, 23-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after splitting a doubleheader with Wisconsin-Parkside this past weekend.
Lewis is 30-16 overall, 19-13 in the GLVC. The Flyers dropped three games to Bellarmine over the weekend but earned a 4-2 victory in the opening game on Sunday afternoon.

LAST TIME AGAINST LEWIS: The Norse won three of the four games last season against the Flyers.
Dave Middendorf struck out 15 batters and only surrendered four hits during a complete-game 2-1 victory over Lewis in the opening game of the series on May 7. The Flyers salvaged a split on the day with a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.
NKU cruised to a 7-2 victory in Game 1 the following day and completed the sweep with a 5-3 win in Game 2.
Brian Erie went 2-for-4 with two runs and a double in the opener, while
Bryan Rose finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the nightcap to lead the Norse.
The Norse hold a 43-33 advantage in the all-time series against Lewis.
CLEMENT KEEPS HITTING: Brad Clement enters the series against Lewis with a seven-game hit streak, with five games consisting of two hits.
Clement went 7-for-15 against Wisconsin-Parkside over the weekend. He scored twice and collected four RBIs and two doubles to lead NKU to a series split.
Clement currently leads the team with a .362 batting average and has accumulated nine doubles, four triples and 40 runs batted in.
JEFFERSON'S COMPLETE PERFORMANCE: Matt Jefferson threw his second complete game of the season in the nightcap on Sunday against Wisconsin-Parkside. He only allowed one earned run on nine hits. The sophomore right-handed pitcher collected four strikeouts and only walked two batters.
Jefferson earned his first complete game performance in a 6-2 victory over Maryville on March 25. He only surrendered two runs on six hits and collected three strikeouts.
Jefferson improved to 5-1 on the season with a 3.10 earned run average with the win on Sunday afternoon. He has collected 34 strikeouts in 52 1/3 innings on the mound.
