Women's tennis falls at home to Mercer

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team showed some improvement in Thursday's 7-0 defeat at the hands of Atlantic Sun Conference foe Mercer.

Holly Robinson and Claire Spradlin picked up a match win in the No. 2 doubles flight, defeating Mercer's Liza Klyachkin and Kealee Heffner, 8-0.  Mercer picked up the other two doubles matches and swept singles play to pick up the first conference victory for the Bears, which improved to 5-10 overall.

The Norse fell to 0-11, 0-4 in conference play.

NKU concludes the home conference weekend with a Saturday match against Kennesaw State.  The women take their first serve at 10 a.m. at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.
