CINCINNATI -
Brendan Chwalek led the Northern Kentucky University men's track & field team at the Oliver Nickoloff Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati this past weekend.
Chwalek made the biggest contribution to the team with a 9:17.08 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. His finish was good enough for first place and it gave the team the ten points it accrued to claim a 12th-place result in the team event. Chwalek finished nearly ten seconds ahead of the next finisher and only three seconds off his personal best, which was set last season.
Ricky Harm has been showing consistent progress in the 5000-meter and this week was no different, as he placed 11th in the event. He finished with a time of 15:13.79, which was just off from his personal best of 15:09.18 that was set last weekend at the Alabama Relays.
Josh Miller put together a good day with 11th-place finishes in discus and shot put. He set a personal best in the discus with a throw of 35.36 meters. His day was wrapped up with a 13th-place finish in the javelin.
NKU will be in action next weekend at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville.
