KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Northern Kentucky University men's track and field team headed down to the University of Tennessee this past weekend to compete in the Sea Ray Relays.
Brendan Chwalek had a busy day as he set a personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:11.98 and earned a fourth-place finish in the event. He showed his importance as a team member by guiding the Norse to a seventh-place 10:42.04 finish in the distance medley relay and a 17:44.69 finish in the rarely run 4x1500 meter relay.
Senior leader
Ricky Harm set a personal best in the 10,000 meter with a time of 31:50.63. He was the top finisher for NKU in the event with
Zac Holtkamp and
Andrew Wolfer finishing just behind with times of 32:13.09 and 32:16.90, respectively.
Jason Zavislak continued his recent surge in the javelin throw with a new personal best of 42.53 meters. He finished 14th in the event which has become his niche during the outdoor season.
The Norse head to Lexington, Ky., for the Bluegrass Classic April 19-20 in one of their final tune-ups before the Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Championships in Jacksonville, Fla., May 10-11.
