CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team celebrated its Senior Day with success, claiming a 4-3 win over Walsh (Ohio) at the Five Seasons Sports Club.
 
NKU (1-17) celebrated the collegiate careers of Claire Spradlin and Holly Robinson, each of whom claimed singles victories on the day.  Spradlin bested Walsh's Shellie Webster, 6-0, 6-2, in her top flight match, while Robinson defeated Allie St. George, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 4 flight.
 
Marta Romeo was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Alisha Angle on Court 2, while Shana Kleynen surrendered a single game in defeating Kayla Shaheen. Kleynen and Romeo also teamed up for a doubles victory in the second flight, defeating Angle and St. George, 8-1.
 
The seniors of the NKU men's team were also honored in a ceremony during today's match.  Guillaume Berman, Andre Correa and Jimmy Caccamo played their final home matches representing NKU on Sunday in a 6-1 victory over Dayton.
 
NKU will finish the 2013 season this weekend, playing in the National Invitation Tennis Tournament in Edison, N.J.  The Norse women will take on Texas-Pan American, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Chicago State in the two-day event.
