LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's track & field team put together a strong performance at the Bellarmine Classic. This meet was the final tune-up for the Norse before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships.
Brendan Chwalek blew away the competition in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a 9:22.68, first-place finish. His time bested the second-place competitor by 14.67 seconds, and it marked his third time in his career that he placed first in the event.
Brady Holmer and Tyler Mowrey ran their personal bests in the 3000-meter steeplechase with times of 9:51.08 and 10:00.21 respectively.
Matt Kincaid set a personal best in the 1500-meter with a 10
th-place finish and time of 4:09.50.
Bryan Warden finished just behind Kincaid with a 4:32.64.
Josh Makin ran the best 800-meter of his career, placing 6
th with a time of 1:58.57.
The Norse will have a week off to prepare for the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships, which are set to begin on Friday, May 11
th, in Jacksonville, Fla.
