KENNESAW, Ga. – Katrina Frost scored a goal in each half to give the Kennesaw State University women's soccer team a 2-0 victory over Northern Kentucky University in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Sunday afternoon.
With the result, NKU falls to 4-6-1 overall and 0-2 in A-Sun play. Kennesaw State leveled its season mark at 5-5 while remaining a perfect 2-0 in league play.
Frost came in the game as a substitute in the 23rd minute and got in the scoresheet just 12 minutes later, picking up a through ball from Suzanne Arafa to finish on a breakaway for her first goal of the season. It was just part of an offensive barrage for the Owls, who outshot the Norse by a 17-3 margin in the game and 8-0 in the first half.
Frost's second goal came in the 68th minute when the KSU midfielder took the ball away from the Norse back line and chipped the ball past NKU goalkeeper Tanner Ruberg for the insurance marker.
Ruberg made seven saves for the Norse on the day and totaled nine stops in the two games over the weekend.
The NKU women return home on Friday, when they look to reverse their three-game slide by hosting Florida Gulf Coast for an A-Sun showdown. Kickoff at the NKU Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
