HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Ohio University women's basketball team recorded four double-digit scorers as the Bobcats defeated Northern Kentucky University, 77-38, on Tuesday night at the Bank of Kentucky Center in nonconference action.
Kiyanna Black led Ohio with 21 points and, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Lexie Baldwin added 14 points and six rebounds. Quiera Lampkins chipped in 12 points and pulled down a team-high eight boards. Kat Yelle finished with 11 points to round out the double-figure scorers, and she recorded six rebounds and a game-high five assists for the Bobcats.

Ohio's offense started the game off strong immediately taking the lead, jumping out to an early 17-4 advantage with 10:54 remaining in the first half, and the Bobcats did not let up. The Ohio defense forced turnovers on the first four NKU possessions and limited the Norse to just five field goals in the opening stanza.
Christine Roush netted the first basket of the game for NKU (2-3) on a layup at the 12:18 mark. A 3-point field goal by
Shar'Rae Davis with just under eight minutes remaining in the first 20 minutes cut the Norse deficit to eight points (22-14), but the Bobcats ended the half on a 14-0 run to take a 36-14 lead into the halftime break.
Ohio (4-0) opened the second half in similar fashion to the first, pushing out to a 50-16 lead courtesy of a 14-2 run with 16:20 remaining in the game. Despite a stronger second half effort from NKU, the Bobcats did not let off the gas and cruised to the victory.
Ohio's defense forced the Norse into 29 turnovers for the game, and the Bobcats finished with a 31-6 advantage in points off miscues.
Shar'Rae Davis finished with eight points and six rebounds to lead NKU.
Mikayla Terry pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and added six points for the Norse, who finished the game with a 41-33 advantage in rebounds.
"I thought we started the game very poorly," NKU head coach
Dawn Plitzuweit said. "I don't think that we executed offensively. We will see where we're at offensively and what style we need to play at [in preparation for the Navy Classic], and see how we need to attack. We will spend some time on film and some time on the court and get back at it."
NKU returns to action this weekend as the Norse travel to Annapolis, Maryland, to take part in the Navy Classic.
