NORSE NOTES (FIVE STARTERS & ONE)

1• NKU is 8-17 overall after dropping a 76-59 decision against USC Upstate on Saturday. The Norse are 4-9 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

2• Torrey Craig netted 16 points to lead four USC Upstate players in double figures. Jodd Maxey added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans, who used a 16-0 run in the first half to take control of the game.

3• Jordan Jackson led NKU with 18 points. Jack Flournoy came off the bench and added 11 points.

4• Jalen Billups added six points and three blocks, while Dean Danos scored eight points and dished out three assists.

5• Kennesaw State has lost eight straight games going into Thursday.

+1• NKU is unbeaten (4-0) all-time against Kennesaw State, including an 82-69 win earlier this season.

Kennesaw State is 4-21 overall, 1-11 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Owls have lost eight consecutive games going into Thursday night and are winless (0-4) all-time against the Norse.

FLOURNOY FOR 3: NKU sophomore forward Jack Flournoy came off the bench and drained a trio of 3-pointers against USC Upstate on Saturday and finished with 11 points. Flournoy is 29-for-72 from 3-point range this season and averages 5.0 points per game.

ACTION JACKSON: Norse junior guard Jordan Jackson scored a team-leading 18 points in the loss to USC Upstate. Jackson tops NKU in scoring at 14.2 points per contest, including 14.5 ppg against Atlantic Sun Conference opponents. He is also the team's leader in steals (1.6 spg) and assists (2.8 apg).

Jackson has scored in double figures 17 times this season, with a career-high 28 points against Jacksonville on Jan. 4.

REJECTION TIME: NKU sophomore post player Jalen Billups collected three blocks against USC Upstate and has swatted a team-leading 30 shots this season. Billups blocked a career-best five shots against North Florida earlier this season. He also averages 9.2 points and a team-best 5.3 rebounds per contest.

ON TARGET: NKU freshman point guard Dean Danos was perfect (3-for-3) from the field against USC Upstate en route to eight points. Danos knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and added three assists in that game. He also grabbed two rebounds.

STAT LEADERS: Jake Giesler leads NKU with 44 offensive rebounds, while Todd Johnson has made a team-high 40 shots from 3-point range. Tyler White leads NKU with an average of 30.8 minutes per game. Jordan Jackson has converted 100 field goals and 123 free throws.

BY THE NUMBERS: NKU is 2-9 on the road this season, including 1-5 against Atlantic Sun Conference teams. The Norse are 3-0 when scoring at least 80 points. NKU is 3-0 in overtime games, and the Norse are 6-4 when allowing less than 70 points.

THE LAST TIME AGAINST KENNESAW STATE: Earlier this season on Jan. 18, five players scored in double figures to lead NKU to an 82-69 victory against Kennesaw State, giving Norse head coach Dave Bezold his 180th career win.

Todd Johnson and Jordan Jackson scored 18 points apiece for NKU. Jalen Billups added 12 points and eight rebounds as the Norse remained perfect (4-0) all-time against the Owls.

Anthony Monaco and Tyler White each scored 10 points, with Monaco grabbing a career-high eight rebounds. The Norse shot 55 percent from the field and were 31-for-38 from the free-throw line.

Delbert Love scored 15 points for Kennesaw State.

Kennesaw State shot 66.7 percent from the field during the first half and trailed just 42-41 at the break. NKU connected on 52.2 percent of its attempts from the field before halftime and converted 15 of its 16 free throws during the opening 20 minutes.

Johnson, whose 18 points were a career high, scored nine before halftime. Jackson added eight points before intermission.
