ResultsJACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team fell to North Florida on Friday by a score of 7-0 on Friday afternoon. With the loss, NKU fell to 4-13 and finished the Atlantic Sun Conference season with an 0-8 record.
Mate Virag took his top flight match with Caio Gomes to a third-set super tiebreak, but came up short in a 10-5 decision.
Jody Maginley also came back from a 6-0 defeat in the first set to force a tiebreak in the second set, where he fell, 7-4.
The Norse finish out the weekend on Saturday with a non-conference match against Bethune-Cookman. The 2014 season comes to a close on Tuesday when the Norse host Xavier. First serve from the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex is set for 3 p.m.
